Misunderstanding of Induction

Definition

Imagine that you are a beginner of hypnosis and trance. You don’t know much about the power of hypnosis or the pleasure of trance. You want to know about an induction. It is a very important part of hypnosis and trance.

Understanding

So you pull your phone, power your favorite browser and you find yourself online. You type the word “induction” into the search engine or AI dialogue box. Waiting to find out the search results. Below is what you might find about the definition of an induction.

Induction

Induction is a type of logical reasoning that involves drawing conclusions about a general rule or pattern based on specific examples or evidence. It's a process of moving from specific observations or evidence to a general conclusion.

In other words, induction starts with observing particular instances and from that, a broader conclusion is drawn. For example, if a person observes that every time they see a swan, it is white, they may conclude that all swans are white.

Induction is different from deduction, which is another type of logical reasoning that starts with a general rule or premise and reaches a specific conclusion. Deduction is a process of moving from the general to the specific, whereas induction is the opposite.

Induction is an important method in science, mathematics, and other fields, where it's used to make inferences and predictions based on available data. However, induction is not always a foolproof method and can sometimes lead to incorrect conclusions. To ensure the accuracy of inductive reasoning, it's important to have a large and diverse set of examples to draw from.

Confusion

Now, are you confused about the definition of the induction above from the paragraph? I don’t know about you, but I am confused as a hypnotist. Why? Because the paragraph above has nothing to do with the type of an induction of hypnosis and trance that we (hypnotists) practice with subjects.

Hypnosis

Now, I have a question for you. Why do you think the search engines or the artificial intelligence (AI) produced the above search result of the definition of an induction? If you say that the beginner of hypnosis and trance who asked the question was not specific about the type of induction, you might be right.

Trance

This is my second post or lesson about an induction of hypnosis and trance. In my next post of lesson, I will talk about the definition of an induction in the world of hypnosis and trance. Not the outside of hypnosis and trance.
